RESIDENTS PROTEST AGAINST PLANNED INSTALLATION OF ALARAROMI OBO

…Caution Ekiti State Government

Some residents of Araromi- Obo Ekiti, Irepodun-Ifelodun Local Government have appealed to Governor Biodun Oyebanji not to install anybody as the new Alararomi Obo Ekiti pending the outcome of the supreme Court on the matter.

The residents who made the call while addressing newsmen in Ado explained that the case was currently at the supreme court, hence the need for government to stop further processing on the installation.

One of them, the Oisegan of Araromi- Obo Ekiti, Chief Oluwole Egunjobi who is one of the king makers alleged that Ekiti State Government had selected warrant Chiefs to install their anointed candidate which he described as tantamount to contempt of court.

Also, the President, Araromi Obo Progressive Union, Mr Sunday Aderemi and another leader in the town Prince Omoniyi Alabi protested against the purported approval of Olowokere Gbenga and Olaiya Femi as warrant Chiefs of Araromi Obo and planned installation of Mr Ebenezer Ojo as the king of the town.

The concerned residents cautioned government against actions that could further heat up the policy and truncate the existing peace of the area.
