…says It’s Time For Healing Processes
By Udesinanna Stephen
The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has sought reconciliation in the People’s Democratic Party, PDP saying that the “healing process has to start and it must start now.”
He said this during the retreat organised by the party for elected officials in Bauchi, Bauchi State.
The PDP has gone through diverse challenges ranging from the G5 Governors that opposed the Party’s Presidential flag bear, Atiku Abubakar, to Peter Obi who left the party with claims of injustice. All these are what the majority of the party members hold to its failure to take over the country’s Presidential role in the 2023 elections.
As obtained by Punch, The governor said, “Well, I want to point out that we went through a gruelling election, and whether we want to admit or not, we have issues amongst ourselves during the elections. But, you know what, the healing process has to start, and it must start now.
“We must focus on things that will unite us. We must, as a matter of urgency, be forward-looking. We have to tell ourselves the home truth. One thing I can say is that, for the governors of the PDP, who are present here, I will say that the governors are willing, ready and able to play a stabilising role in this party.” He said.
