Move NOA to Presidency – Garba Advises Tinubu

By Udesinanna Stephen

All Progressives Congress, APC Chieftain, Adamu Garba has called on the federal government to move the National Orientation Agency, NOA from the Ministry of Information to the Presidency.

He said that it is important for Nigeria’s information assets to be treated as a ‘national security interest.

Garba made the call on his Twitter handle @adamugarba while responding to one @alouibrahim92.

“We need to move the NOA away from the Ministry of Information to the Presidency, under the National Security Adviser’s office.

“With the rise of digital information ubiquity, it is important for Nigeria’s information assets to be treated as a ‘national security interest.’ Otherwise, enemies of Nigeria can leverage on same information asset to cause harm to the corporate existence of our country, and that we cannot allow.

“I agree on the need to rebuild the National Orientation Agency and man it with someone who is an ardent believer in the Nigerian Project, has a strong personality, believes in the government and people of Nigeria, and helps to set a direction of the best, positive information about our government and people, by projecting the right image of Nigeria to the audience both home and abroad.” He said.
