The Director of the Tinubu/Shettima campaign, Bayo Onanuga, has lashed members of the People Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP), noting that when the judiciary judges in their favour, they are cool but otherwise democracy becomes threatened.
Bayo said this today on his X account @onanuga1956 while commenting on the Nassarrawa State Tribunal verdict on the State’s gubernatorial election.
“The Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in Nasarawa State has nullified the election of Governor Abdullahi Sule of the All Progressives Congress and declared PDP’s David Ombugadu as the winner of the March 18, 2023 governorship election in the state,” the Punch reported yesterday.
According to Bayo, if it has gone otherwise the opposition will lament that democracy has been threatened.
He said, “If the pendulum of justice had swung the other way, imagine the bedlam on social media! Nigerians should know that justice is not served based on emotions but on cold facts presented before the judges. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.
“Have you read the comments by the PDP-LP mob and their parties on the split ruling in Nasarawa state? The dominant view is that ‘democracy is not in danger, the judges have not compromised”.
