Israel, US, others may suffer oil embargo

By Udesinanna Stephen

The All Progressive Congress (APC) Chieftain and former Presidential Candidate, Adamu Garba, has said that there might be an oil crisis following the Israeli-Palestinian clash.

He said this today on his X account @adamugarba while commenting on the Middle East clash.

The APC Chieftain said, “This coming Friday will be a strong determinant of the global politics of the Middle East. Are we expecting another global oil embargo? This war is looking much more like the Yom Kippur War of 6-25th October 1973.

“Egypt has been informed that Israel is preparing month-long ground operations in Gaza, reports The Times of Israel, while Saudi Arabia called for an urgent meeting of the Organization of the Islamic Countries.” He noted.

Recalls that “During the 1973 Arab-Israeli War, Arab members of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) imposed an embargo against the United States in retaliation for the U.S. decision to re-supply the Israeli military and to gain leverage in the post-war peace negotiations. Arab OPEC members also extended the embargo to other countries that supported Israel, including the Netherlands, Portugal, and South Africa.” Department of State, United State, reports
