Israel has right to protect its citizens from Hamas attacks – US insists

By Udesinanna Stephen

Following Hamas’s attack on the Israeli-Palestine border, the United State (US) has said Israel has the right to protect its citizens from Hamas attacks.

The US Secretary, Anthony Blinkens, said this recently in his X account @SecBlinken.

Blinken revealed that he discussed with the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Catherine Colonna, regarding the issue.

“I spoke with Minister Colonna on Hamas’ terrorist attacks on Israel and continued engagement to respond to the violence by Hamas. Israel has the right to protect its citizens from these attacks and secure the release of hostages.”

Also, he said, “I spoke with Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen about how the U.S. is supporting Israel as it defends itself against Hamas’ terrorist attack and reaffirmed efforts to secure the immediate release of all hostages.”

Recall, that ROUNDOFFNEWS reported that the US has confirmed it will support Israel to protect its citizens and release its hostages.

Also, ROUNDOFFNEWS reported that Hamas, a Palestinian militant group which rules the Gaza Strip recently launched an attack out of Gaza on Israeli forces who were still trying to crush the last groups of militant fighters in several towns of southern Israel. At least 600 people have reportedly been killed in Israel, and more than 300 have been killed in Gaza as Israeli airstrikes pound the territory. In this regard, the Israeli government has declared war on Hamas to launch air attacks on suspected Hamas bases in Gaza.
