Fuel Subsidy Removal: Kwara Governor Reduces Working Days for State Civil Servants

The Kwara State Government has reduced the working days of civil servants from five to three days a week.

A statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Kwara State Head of Service, Murtala Atoyebi said move approved by Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq was a’ ‘temporary measure” to ease the burden of public workers, following the increase in transportation fare
following the removal of fuel subsidies.

Kwara Government has directed all heads of State ministries, department and agencies ( MDAs) to immediately prepare a format showing the rational working days of officials under their authority

The statement, however, warned workers not to abuse the opportunity, and pointed out that the regular monitoring by office of the Head of Service would be intensified to ensure strict compliance.
