EKITI NUJ BEGINS YEAR 2024 WITH PRAYER, THANKSGIVING

…as Clerics advocate unity among members

It was an atmosphere of praise and worship this morning at the Nigeria Union of Journalists’ Secretariat, Ekiti Sate Council as members and well wishers converged to appreciate God for his mercy and love over them to witness year 2024 in good and sound health.

Different songs were rendered to appreciate God while prayers were offered to commit the new year unto the hands of the Lord.

In his sermon during the annual prayer held in the Union’ Secretariat, Ado Ekiti, the Chief Immam of Government House, Alhaji Abdulfatai Olohunkemi advocated unity among members of the union and urged them to shun any act that could affect the reputation of the NUJ.

The Government House Chief Imam noted that such unity would give the union opportunity to work toward a common goal, saying God abode where there is love and unity.

Also, the pastor incharge of Holy Trinity Prophetic Church, Ado Ekiti, Prophet James Omitade charged pen professionals to always seek the face of God due to the peculiarity of their job, describing them as builder of the society.

In his speech, the Chairman, NUJ, Ekiti State Council, Mr Kayode Babatuyi said the programme was organised to commit year twenty twenty four unto God’s hands and promised that he would do everything to ensure that Ekiti NUJ continue to wax stronger.

The pragrmme was well attended by, NUJ, Zone B, Chairperson, Mrs Ronke Samo, former Chairmen of the union, Akogun Tai Oguntayo, Chief Laolu Omosilade, General Manager of BSES, Mr Olu Popoola, NAWOJ, Chairperson in Ekiti State, Mrs Fatimah Bello, Progress FM, Manager News and Current Affairs, Mr Bunmi Oluwalana among other leaders of Ekiti NUJ.
