The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General O.O. Nafiu, has assured corps members in Ekiti State that their welfare remains a top priority.
Speaking during his visit to the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Ise-Orun/Emure-Ekiti, the DG stated that the purpose of the visit was to boost the morale of corps members and reaffirm the Scheme’s commitment to their well-being.
In his welcome address, the State Coordinator, Alhaji Riko Abdullahi Shuaibu, expressed appreciation to the Director General, noting that the Ekiti camp was the first in the South-West region to be visited since his assumption of office.
While delivering the camp situation report, Alhaji Shuaibu highlighted several infrastructural challenges facing the camp, including the lack of basic facilities such as electricity, a lecture hall, clinic, suitable accommodation, an OBS building, and administrative blocks.
In his address to the corps members, Brigadier General Nafiu encouraged them to serve with dedication and contribute meaningfully to the development of their host communities, the state, and the nation at large.
He stressed the importance of maintaining a positive attitude, urging corps members to accept their postings in good faith and carry out their duties with passion.
In a heartwarming gesture, the DG celebrated corps members whose birthdays coincided with the visit by presenting them with a cake. He also appreciated the efforts of various camp groups by distributing tokens to the Quarter Guard, Cultural Troupe, Band Team, Man ‘O’ War, and others.
