Police to Arraign 3 Suspects Over Murder of Ex-Ogun TV Broadcaster

‎

Three suspects arrested in connection with the killing of former Ogun State Television presenter, Kitan Oyesiku, and her security guard, Pelumi Adetayo, are scheduled for arraignment at a Magistrate Court in Abeokuta on Monday.

The arraignment is set for Monday, July 6, 2026, at Magistrate Court 3 in Isabo, Abeokuta, by 11:30am. This was confirmed by the Ogun State Police Command.

The court appearance comes less than two weeks after police announced the arrest of the suspects over the deaths of Oyesiku and Adetayo at the broadcaster’s residence.

Investigators who responded to the scene reported signs of forced entry. Adetayo was found dead at the security post, while Oyesiku’s body was later discovered inside the house. A Lexus RX330 SUV belonging to the late broadcaster, which was initially reported missing, was also recovered during the investigation.

The Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, said a major breakthrough came after detectives found a note inside the recovered vehicle. The note was sent for forensic examination and the findings led to the arrest of the alleged ringleader.

‎ The prime suspect was identified as 22-year-old Sodeinde Olajuwon Philip. Police said he was picked up on June 24 at a construction site in Ibara, Abeokuta, where he worked as a labourer.
