The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ekiti State Command, has decorated 104 personnel comprising 25 officers and 79 other ranks who were recently promoted.
The newly promoted personnel were decorated during two separate ceremonies held at the Command Headquarters and various Unit Commands across the state.
Decorating the personnel, the Sector Commander, FRSC Ekiti State Command, CC Sanya Adeoye, FCIPurS, MCILT, congratulated the beneficiaries and commended the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, mni, for approving the promotions.
Adeoye charged the newly promoted personnel to justify the confidence reposed in them by the Corps by living up to expectations in the discharge of their responsibilities.
He reminded them that the new ranks came with greater responsibilities, urging them to uphold the ideals of the founding fathers of the FRSC by maintaining discipline, rejecting corruption and demonstrating professionalism in all their duties.
The Sector Commander also urged the personnel to remain committed to the core mandate of the Corps, particularly the reduction of road traffic crashes to the barest minimum and the promotion of a sustainable road safety culture among Nigerians.
According to him, “promotion is from God,” adding that personnel who were not promoted in the latest exercise should remain committed and continue to give their best, as their own time would come.
Adeoye also appealed to motorists and other road users to strictly obey traffic rules and regulations, particularly as the country approaches the ember months, a period usually associated with increased vehicular movement.
He congratulated the newly promoted personnel and wished them greater success as they assume their new responsibilities.
