The Egbe Afenifere Ilosiwaju Yoruba, Ekiti State Chapter, has reaffirmed its total support for the re-election of Governor Biodun Oyebanji for second term.
This was contained in a statement signed by its Chairman, Elder Yemi Alade and Publicity Secretary, Chief Biodun Akin-Fasae after its September monthly meeting which held in Ado Ekiti.
They congratulated the governor on the successful submission of his completed Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms at the National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja.
The statement reads: “The group commends Governor Oyebanji for his purposeful leadership, people-oriented policies, and unwavering commitment to the development of Ekiti State.
“The Ekiti Afenifere notes that the Governor’s administration has consistently demonstrated transparency, inclusiveness, and progressive governance, which have positively impacted the lives of the people across all sectors.
“We therefore reaffirm our total support for his second-term bid, convinced that his continuity in office will further consolidate the gains already recorded and advance the prosperity of our dear state.”
Also, the Ekiti Afenifere resolved to make clear its independent identity emphasising that it is not an appendage of any other Afenifere group, including the Fasoranti-led body in Akure, Ondo State.
“As a Pan-Yoruba socio-cultural organisation, our mission remains to protect Yoruba interests, promote unity, and advocate for good governance while maintaining our autonomy in line with the peculiar aspirations of the Ekiti people.
“We urge all members, supporters, and well-meaning indigenes of Ekiti State to remain steadfast in their collective efforts to ensure the resounding success of Governor Oyebanji’s re-election bid.”
