The Organisation of African Instituted Churches, Nigeria Region, has congratulated Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on his re-election at the weekend.
In a letter dated August 16, the OAIC Regional Secretary, Snr. Ap. Joe O. Okoh, on behalf of the Regional President, HME Elder Israel Akinadewo FCA, PhD, said Adeleke’s victory was well-deserved.
The letter, shared with PUNCH Online on Monday, described the victory as a significant expression of the confidence and trust the people of Osun State had reposed in Adeleke’s leadership and administration. It noted that the organisation viewed his renewed mandate as an opportunity to consolidate on the achievements of his first term and further advance the peace, unity, welfare and socio-economic development of Osun State.
The group described itself as an indigenous Christian body committed to peace, good governance, justice and the wellbeing of the nation, noting that Adeleke was a member through a member-church, and said the OAIC Nigeria Region joined his family, government and the entire people of Osun State in celebrating the electoral success.
The organisation prayed for divine wisdom, sound health, courage and discernment for Adeleke as he begins his renewed mandate. It expressed hope that his second term would usher in greater development, prosperity, peace and progress for all the people of Osun State, irrespective of political, religious or other affiliations, and assured him of the prayers and goodwill of the OAIC Nigeria Region as he prepared to commence another term of service to the people.
