…as Magistrate Adewale identifies factors responsible for single motherhood

It was a celebration of praise and thanksgiving on Sunday at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Palace of Peace Parish, Olorunsogo, Ado Ekiti as women of the church gathered for this year’s convention.

The event was marked with worship, dancing, and appreciation to God for the opportunity to witness another convention in good health.

In their beautiful and colourful attires, the women sang songs of praise and danced joyfully to celebrate God’s faithfulness throughout the year.

In her lecture, a magistrate , Mrs Omotola Adewale identified societal pressure, economic hardship and lack of proper guidance as some of the factors causing single motherhood in Nigeria, urging parents, churches and government to take deliberate steps to address the trend.

Speaking on the topic “Causes of Single Motherhood and the Remedies”, Magistrate Adewale explained that many young women become single mothers due to broken relationships, peer influence, poverty, death of husbands and absence of parental supervision.

She noted that some men also abandoned their responsibilities after getting women pregnant, leaving the women to bear the burden alone, saying the stigma and economic challenges that follow often affect both the mother and the children.

Mrs Adewale stressed that the church has a critical role in counseling youths on responsible relationships and in supporting women who are already in the situation.

In her sermon, Pastor Oluwatoyin charged women to seek God first and dwell in His secret place for them to enjoy undiluted blessings
