In the journey of leadership, time is not merely measured in years but in impact, in service, and in the lives touched along the way. Today, we proudly celebrate a remarkable milestone as Hon. Kolawole Davidson Akinlayo, Member representing Ekiti North Federal Constituency II (Ido/Osi, Moba, Ilejemeje), marks three years of purposeful, people-centered representation at the National Assembly.
From the very outset, Hon. Akinlayo has demonstrated an uncommon commitment to grassroots development, translating promises into tangible progress across the constituency. His tenure has been defined by a deliberate focus on infrastructure, human capital development, and sustainable empowerment.
Across communities, the evidence of his impact is visible. From the installation of solar-powered boreholes in Iye and Osi Ekiti to the provision of streetlights in IreAkari, EdaOniyo, and other towns, he has illuminated lives, both literally and figuratively. The construction of walkways and the provision of modern medical equipment at Otun General Hospital, Moba Local Government, the refurbishment of Primary Health Center at Ikosu and Eda-Oniyo have significantly improved access to healthcare, while road grading and the facilitation of key road projects such as the Otun-Osan and Osan Township roads have enhanced mobility and economic activity.

Understanding that education remains the bedrock of development, Hon. Akinlayo has invested heavily in the future of young people. Over 1,500 JAMB forms have been procured for aspiring students, while above 700 students have benefitted from bursaries and scholarships. His sponsorship of digital technology training in Artificial Intelligence and software development has positioned youths of the constituency for relevance in a rapidly evolving global economy. The establishment of ICT centres further laid good credence to his forward-thinking approach.
In the area of health and social welfare, his free medical outreach programs have brought relief to countless constituents through screenings, medications, and consultations. His compassionate leadership is evident in the financial support extended to widows and elderly citizens, as well as assistance to victims of natural disasters.
Women empowerment has also received significant attention, with the distribution of sewing machines, grinding machines, and hair dryers to boost small-scale businesses and promote economic independence among women. Farmers have not been left behind, as fertilizer distribution and farm tools support have strengthened agricultural productivity across the constituency.
In boosting local enterprise and livelihoods, the distribution of generators, spraying machines, roofing sheets and motorcycles has enhanced both business operations and transportation services, creating new streams of income for beneficiaries.
His support for traditional institutions and consistent stakeholder engagements reflect a leadership style rooted in inclusiveness and respect for community structures.
Legislatively, Hon. Akinlayo has proven to be an active and effective lawmaker not one kmown for backseating or dumbseating. From sponsoring critical bills such as the proposed School of Nursing in Ikosu Ekiti and facilitating the advancement of the School of Agriculture in Otun Ekiti, to raising motions on national issues including public accountability and human rights, his voice continues to resonate both within and beyond the chamber.
Furthermore, his facilitation of federal employment opportunities has opened doors for many constituents.
Indeed, three years on, Hon. Kolawole Davidson Akinlayo has etched his name in the hearts of the people as a representative who not only understands their needs but listens and acts decisively to address them.
As we celebrate these achievements, it is important to note that this is only the beginning. The end is yet to come. Greater opportunities lie ahead, and the days to come promise even more impactful interventions. From expanded empowerment programs to increased employment opportunities and deeper community engagement, the people of Ekiti North Federal Constituency II can look forward to even more dividends of democracy.
Here’s to three years of impactful service and to many more years of purposeful representation. Amen.
