...”I can’t go to bed while my people are hungry”…Ogidi
In the spirit of yuletide, the
Special Adviser to the Executive Chairman, Federal Inland Revenue Services FIRS, Mr. Adekunle Ogidi has distributed food items, drinks and cash to widows in Ijero Ekiti, Ijero Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
Beneficiaries of the gesture were selected from the four wards in the community which are ward A,B,C and D.
Addressing newsmen during the programme, the convener, who is the Special Adviser to the Executive Chairman, Federal Inland Revenue Services FIRS, Mr. Adekunle Ogidi noted that the decision to assist the widows was a personal conviction to put smiles on their faces and enable them have a blissful Christmas.
Mr. Ogidi who is an active financial supporter of APC in Ijero Local Government noted that the gift would enable the beneficiaries enjoy their Christmas and New Year amidst the current economic hardship.
He said:” Today, I am fulfilled that I have the opportunity to reach out to this women who are vulnerable considering the current reality of our country.
“I can’t go to bed or celebrate the Christmas when some people don’t have things to eat, but with what I have done, I am happy and the beneficiaries are happy, we are all happy together as one family.
Some of the beneficiaries who could not hide their feelings appreciated Mr. Ogidi for reaching out to them.
According to them, the gifts came at the right time because some of them have nothing to eat for the yuletide.
The beneficiaries rained prayers on Mr Ogidi and appealed to other well meaning individuals to emulate him.
The occasion was well attended by members of APC in Ijero Ekiti and State representatives who all showered encomium on Mr. Ogidi for giving his people sense of belonging and raising their hope of celebrating a blissful Christmas and New Year.
Also, Hon. Adedeji Adesokan, the SSA to Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji on Traffic management and Hon Abiodun Dada, SSA Governor office described Mr. Ogidi as kind hearted man who have always shown love to people around him.
Present also was Hon Oladele Agbemuko, a former House of Assembly aspirant in Ijero and equally praised Mr Ogidi for the job gesture.
Similarly, the Executive Chairman Ijero Local Government, Hon.Folowosele Abayomi said the council is blessed to have a personality like Mr. Ogidi urging him to sustain the positive deeds and actions.
