WORKERS’ DAY: EKITI NLC CHAIRMAN HAILS GOV OYEBANJI’S COMMITMENT TO WORKERS’ WELFARE

The Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, in Ekiti State, Comrade Kolapo Olatunde has hailed the tremendous contributions of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji to the welfare of workers in the State.

Comrade Kolapo, who described Governor Oyebanji as workers’ friendly leader, commended his commitment towards prompt payment of salary, arrears, pension and giving special attention to payment of backlog of gratuity among others.

He also appreciated the governor’s magnanimity to increase subvention to all subvented institutions.

Comrade Kolapo showered encomium on the workaholic Governor for making a pronouncement during the workers’ day that he is ready to commence payment of minimum wage immediately it is approved by the Federal Government.

He also appreciated the wife of the Governor, Dr (Mrs) Olayemi Oyebanji, Deputy Governor, Chief Monisade Afuye, the Rt. Hon. Speaker, the Head of service, government functionaries, special invited guests, and entire Ekiti workers for making this year’s worker’s day celebration a huge success.

Comrade Kolapo Olatunde noted that the success recorded during the celebration was as a result of co-operation that exist between the Union leaders, entire Ekiti workers and present administration in the state.

According to him, “we have never had it so great, Governor Oyebanji have really proved to us to be a true Omoluabi and positive home grown politician.”

“You have demonstrated to us that you are an exceptional politician, who gives priority to the needs of the electorates, regardless of the political affiliations.

Comrade Olatunde therefore appealed to the Governor to engage the 2019 sacked workers of the EKSU. He equally reminded him of the need to defray the remaining leave bonus.
