We’ll support Israel to protect its Citizens – US

By Udesinanna Stephen

Following Hamas’s attack on the Israeli-Palestine border, the United State (US) has said it will support Israel to protect its citizens and release its hostages.

The US Secretary, Anthony Blinkens, said this recently in his X account @SecBlinken.

He said, “Met with senior advisors today to discuss the latest on the terrorist attacks on Israel. We will continue to work to ensure Israel has what it needs to protect its citizens and to secure the release of hostages.”

At the same time, Spokesman to the US Secretary of State, Matthew Miller, noted on his X account @StateDeptSpox that “We (US) reaffirm(s) the United States’ solidarity with the government and people of Israel.”

According to the British Broadcast Cooperation (BBC), Hamas is a Palestinian militant group which rules the Gaza Strip.

Hamas launched an attack out of Gaza on Israeli forces who were still trying to crush the last groups of militant fighters holed up in several towns of southern Israel. At least 600 people have reportedly been killed in Israel, and more than 300 have been killed in Gaza as Israeli airstrikes pound the territory. In this regard, the Israeli government has declared war on Hamas to launch air attacks on suspected Hamas base in Gaza, Associated Press reports.
