Police to go after erring personnel

By Udesinanna Stephen

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has said it has mandated teams to go after erring and rebellious personnel, even to visit stations and cells so as to bring them to judgment.

The Force Public Relations Officer, Prince Olumuyiwa, said this recently on his X account while responding to one @kinggoldd1 who lamented of inconsistency on standard by some Nigeria police officers.

@kinggoldd1 wrote, “@Princemoye1 if I may ask, with all these complain everyday, why can’t police setup a team that will be on patrol all the time monitoring the activities of the police on the road and those harassing innocent people.”

Olumuyiwa responded, “We have teams who have been mandated, empowered, and supported by the IGP to go after these erring and recalcitrant officers, even to visit stations and cells.

Also, he noted that the team must be empowered to be effective and efficient across States, “I guess the teams will need to step up the game and seek more personnel to cover more states. You would agree with me that teams would need to cover more states simultaneously to make a difference. This would be addressed again.” He said.
