WALK IN FEAR OF THE LORD, BAYO FAMOROTI URGES NEW LEADERS

Nigerian leaders have been urged to walk in the fear of God, so that Nigeria can be a great nation.

The call was made by the leader and supervisor of Redeemed Evangelical Apostolic Church, Ado Ekiti, Evang. Bayo Famoroti in a sermon on Sunday.

He said one of the major problems in our society today is lack of the fear of God and regretted that there is a shortage of the fear of God in the church too.

He said: “It is dwindling among the believers today. There is no fear of God before their eyes. Many of the leaders today didn’t have the fear of God, many of them steal people’s money which they suppose to use for roads, securities, education and welfare of the people they represent?.

Evang. Bayo Famoroti, who is also an ace Broadcaster, said when we choose to walk in the fear of the Lord, we will be richly blessed (Psalm 112:1-10) and the church will also grow by leaps and bounds.
“ The Spirit of God is the Spirit of the fear of the Lord and our God delights in the fear of the Lord”, he said.

He however regretted that many of the leaders today do not have the fear of God while many of them steal people’s money which they are supposed to use for roads, securities, education and welfare of the people they represent.
Famoroti declared: “God will punish a leader who diverts people’s attention from Him. A leader of any capacity is expected to have the fear of God and be considerate with his leadership. Leaders are expected to utilize their influence to benefit their people and also encourage them to be godly in their practices.

“Also, it is the responsibility of followers to evaluate any instruction received and ensure that it is compliant with God’s laws. Both the leaders/rulers and followers/citizens are mandated to please God in whatever they do. God will not respond to excuses, and he will not exonerate anyone who fails to apply godly fear to whatever he or she does”.

He said this country will be great if we can put God’s first and called on the newly elected leaders and businessmen to walk in the fear of God so that a better Nigeria can evolve.
