UNION LEADERS CELEBRATE OYEBANJI FOR INCREASING MONTHLY SUBVENTION TO EKSU

The Joint Action Committee of the Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, known as JAC III has appreciated Ekiti State, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for the major increase in the subvention to the university.

JAC III comprises, Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU),  National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT) and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU)

Governor Oyebanji had in a statement affirmed that the increment is being done in fulfillment of his promise to prioritise higher education and ensure Ekiti maintains its pride of place as the education capital of Nigeria.

In a statement jointly signed by SSANU Chairman, Comrade Temidayo Azeez Aguda, NASU Chairman, Comrade Olajutemu Sunday Kola and NAAT Chairman, Comrade Adeosun O. Mary the union leaders explained that the gesture of the Governor would put to an end the usual irregularities in the payment of salaries and other benefits of staff.

The union leaders noted that the action of the Governor had again confirmed that he is a man of his word who truly cares about the growth of education in the state.

While appreciating the role played by the Alumni Association of the University towards ensuring the increased subvention the JAC III promised to continue to cooperate with government and propose initiatives that would raise the bar of the institution.
