Sudan Crisis: AU Meets in Ethiopia

…plans to Coordinate International Efforts

The African Union Political Affairs Peace and Security, (AU PAPS) team has met to coordinate international efforts towards securing a permanent ceasefire on Sudan Crisis and provide humanitarian support.

This was obtained in a statement on the official Twitter account of the AU team @AUC_PAPS.

The meeting which was described as the Expanded Mechanism on the Sudan Crisis was held at the African Union, AU Head Qauter Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

According to the statement, the AU plans to engage all Sudanese parties toward an inclusive political process and lasting peace in Sudan.

The statement reads, “The Expanded Mechanism on the Sudan Crisis met at the AU HQ to coordinate international efforts to secure a permanent ceasefire, protection of civilians, expedite humanitarian support, engage all Sudanese parties towards an inclusive political process and lasting peace in Sudan.”
