The remains of Late Pa. Clement Olusegun Olukoga, a community and religious leader, will be committed to Mother Earth on Thursday, May 9, and Friday, 10, 2024, in Akure, the Ondo State capital
The late Pa. Olukoga transited to glory in the early hours of Saturday, March 9, 2024.
According to a statement from the family, made available by one of the deceased’s son, Olusegun ‘Pelumi-Olukoga, the Christian wake-keep service will hold on Thursday May 9, while the burial service and interment is expected to hold on Friday May 10 in Akure, Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State.
Going by the programme of events, the venue of the wake-keep is at his residence, 48 Lydia Ayodele/Michael Ale Street, GRA, off FUTA South Gate Road, Akure by 5pm.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 10, at the St. Thomas’s Anglican Church, Isinkan by 12 noon to be followed by reception and entertainment of guests at St. Thomas’s Church Event Centre, Ondo Road, Akure.
The late Pa. C.O. Olukoga was aged 85 and a devout Anglican faithful in his lifetime. He was the last child of his parents and was born at Agbo-ile Asa, Foko, Agbeni in Ibadan, Oyo State on Tuesday, February 7, 1939 into the family of late Chief John Odusanya Olukoga of Ita-Ntebo, Ijebu-Ode and Late Mama Victoria Mobolaji Olukoga (Nee Williams) of Wasimi Ake, Abeokuta.
The deceased, between 1976 and 1978, earned his professional qualifications from PITMAN Examinations Institute, London. There, he had first class in both intermediate (35W.P.M) and Advanced (50W.P.M) certificates. The certification made him a professional Typist. Later, he established ETA-OKO TYPING INSTITUTE. The institute was second to none during that era in the city of Akure. He gained popularity due to his dedication, tenacity, and teaching prowess, which drew many individuals to the institute. Many of those people became employees of government in South West states and beyond.
Late Pa Olukoga was married and built a healthy family and christian home. He was blessed with children among whom is the Ogun State Bureau Chief and Senior News Correspondent, Silverbird Television, Olusegun ‘Pelumi-Olukoga and he became a good parent to all of them.
