Security Committee Demands Information Sharing, Intelligence from Residents

The Joint Security Committee, JSC, of Emure, Ise/Orun and Ikere local governments of Ekiti State have called on residents of the area to share information and intelligence on any security threats in their area.

This is contained in the resolution of the 13th Security Summit of the committee held on Wednesday at Elemure’s Palace, Emure-Ekiti, to discuss the security challenges of the axis and jointly signed by Elder Tunji Falana, JSC Chairman and Supt. Niyi Okunniga, JSC General Secretary.

The host Royal Father, Oba Adebowale E Adebayo (Elemure of Emure Ekiti) appreciated the commitments of the Stakeholders and Security Agencies in making the area relatively peaceful.

The Chairmen of Emure & Ise/Orun LGAS, Hon Joseph Adu & Hon (Engr.) Ayodele Akinluyi who were at the meeting, appreciated the SAs, pledges their moral and Logistical support to the Committee.

Earlier, JSC Chairman, Elder Falana thanked Kabiyesi Elemure and other royal Fathers for provision of logistics and professional and traditional ideas to the Security Agencies.

Elder Falana called on other stakeholders to support the Committee through, Security Trust Fund as festive season was around the corner, adding that the SAs needs to be motivated to keep the criminals hibernating in the axis at bay.

The resolutions reached are: “Sharing of information and intelligence; Engaging in mutual and collaborative engagements by “Seeing something and saying something.”

“Embarking on joint operations, sensitization of community through Town Hall meetings where teething issues would be discussed and resolved.

“Handing over of suspects to the appropriate prosecuting agencies; Provision of logistics support through Security Trust Fund to the Security Agencies to boost their moral for effective service delivery.”
