The family of Fasimoye in Ondo town, headquarters of Ondo West local government have raised an alarm over what it called attempted homicide and armed terrorist invasion of their lives and property.
The family in a seven paragraph petition written by their Counsel Mr Bekewe Ekpoemi and dated 24th of August, 2023 to the office of the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Ondo State and the Inspector General of Police (AIG) to save their lives from malicious destruction, robbery and anarchy over the judgement of an appellate court in Ondo State.
The family in the petition on behalf of their representatives, Messer Michael Fasimoye, Henry Fasimoye, Otunba Muyideen Olamoyegun and other residents of Ogbomosho village in Ondo State called on the IGP Mr Kayode Egbetokun, to save their lives from the hand of suspected thugs.
The petition explained that their clients were adjudged bonafide owners of the vast expanse of farmland covered by the judgement delivered Hon Justice D I Kolawole in its appellate capacity.
According to him “‘despite the existence of the judgement some suspected hoodlums led by one Mogbonjubola Fewehinmi and others continue to disturb our clients by harassing them and destructing their properties, despite a suit number HOD/15/2016 was instituted against them and judgement was delivered in favour of the our clients.
The lawyer who described the attack on his clients as barbaric and violation of court order, explained that despite the existence valid judgements in competent courts which were never on appeal by the claimants.
He regretted that it is saddening to note that the claimants had engaged armed hoodlums and cultist among who include, Ademola Awotunde, Festus Odesola Adekunle Akanji and others armed with dangerous weapons unleashed terror, maliciously destroy economic trees, cash crops and armed attack as well as breach of peace in the community.
He urged the Inspector General of Police to use his exalted office to intervene in the matter and checkmate the illegality that capable of bringing the judiciary to disrepute.
He equally pleaded with the IGP to use his good office to wade in the matter and do the needful by putting an end to what he called anomaly.
