PROPHET OMITADE ALERTS NIGERIANS ON POSSIBLE NATURAL DISASTERS

…seeks immediate intervention of government

The founder of Holy Trinity Authority Prophetic Church Ikere Road, Ado Ekiti, Prophet James Omitade has called the attention of Nigerians and government to possible disasters such as flood, mudslide and rainstorm.

In a statement titled “Hurdles Before Nigeria” Omitade said urgent step must be taken to avert it’s consequences.

He said”The Holy Spirit warns the stakeholders in the various nooks and crannies in Nigeria to rise up to their responsibilities in keeping the environment safe during the annual /seasonal rainfall .

“Heavy rainfalls ,stormy winds and mudslides will characterise this year’s rainy season. All these will lead to a great deluge and floods in several parts of the country.

“Government and environmental authorities should take positive steps that will prevent flooding by clearing the flood drains, channels, small springs and rivers etc.

“Landlords and caretakers should as well clear the neighborhood gutters of litters and debris that could pose threat to the easy and smooth flow of water in their respective quarters. Tenants should as well not fold their hands because the landlords are not around. This sacred warning is very essential now to forestall hazards that happen in the aftermath of heavy rainfall that will characterise this year’s rainy season.

In the same view the aftermath of this cashless policy which is generally now believed according to some Yoruba comedians to be (korowona virus) I. e lack of physical cash, may spell doom for the banking industry if not properly handled. Banks should temper the lull in this industry with internal management acumen that will prevent mass lay offs.

Financial institutions are at present undergoing numerous experimentations with advanced technology in the information and communication technology. Laid of staff who are already loaded and armed with the ICT stuffs will end up as charcoals in huge sacks of palm kernel.

Owing to insecurity in the job market some bankers arm themselves with software containing details of several customers which they begin to deploy ruthlessly in lifting cash from their respective accounts.

After all, the hall mark of the cashless policy is cash transfer! This will lead to chaos as billions of Naira will be missing without the knowledge of the owners of such accounts.

Needless for one to say that such banks will be hunted by sudden collapse as panic withdrawals by customers who are not assured of the security of their deposits like in times past-begin to play safe.
