…as Special Court Session Held in His Honour
The Acting Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Justice A.L Ogunmoye has described late Justice J. O Adeyeye as one who was not just a jurist per excellence but also a father, mentor, leader and an astute administrator.
Justice Ogunmoye made this known on Thursday during the valedictory court session held at Ekiti State High Court, Ado-Ekiti, in honour of the demised Chief Judge of the State.
Justice Ogunmoye while delivering his speech identified late Justice Adeyeye as “a Visionary, who pursued effective justice delivering and a strong, virile and efficient judiciary with determination, vigour and passion”.
“His spirited efforts birthed significant progress for the judiciary in terms of institutional reforms, infrastructural development, capacity building and staff welfare”, he added.
In relation to his colleagues, Justice Adeyeye was seen an amiable and lovable gentleman who helped to foster the maintenance of a harmonious and crisis-free relationship between the bar and the bench, as well as other organs of government.
“He was firm yet flexible and he canvassed and promoted a cordial working and inter-personal relationships among judges, making the occasional official and social events that brought us together interesting, relaxing, value-adding and worthwhile”, he said.
Moreso,the Honourable Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Ekiti State, Dayo Apata eulogized the late Chief Judge describing him as an embodiment of education, resilience and a man of sound character.
Hon. Apata disclosed that late Justice Adeyeye represented a true combination of leadership in all ramifications and further prayed for his eternal repose.
Similarly, the speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Stephen Aribasoye described the late Chief Judge as a jurist of remarkable integrity, thoughtful, thorough and passionate about the law.
He commended Justice Adeyeye’s strides while in office and called on other colleagues to honour his commitment by continuing to strengthen the bonds between their institutions and advocate for the values he cherished.
