Press Week: Ekiti NUJ Begins Medical Outreach

The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ekiti State Council on Tuesday began the medical outreach as part of activities marking the 2024 Press Week.

The medical outreach featured; Fasting Blood Sugar Test, Eye Screening, distribution of free glasses, blood pressure and weight check, HIV testing, medical consultation among others.

Members of the union and the public are beneficiaries of the medical outreach which is holding at the NUJ Press Centre in Ado-Ekiti.

The Union is collaborating with Maternal and Child Specialists Clinic, Women and Children Development and Health Research Initiative, Planned Parenthood Federation of Nigeria, Ekiti State Chapter, Nigerian Medical Association, Ekiti State Branch and Richmarg Educational Consult International for the Health Talk/Free Medical Outreach.

Speaking during an interview, the people who came for various tests and screening spoke of their delight for an opportunity as this.

Mary Falani, an aged woman spoke on how she has been suffering from eyes darkness and how she feels delighted to witness this opportunity.

Mr. Joseph Adeyemi also said he has been suffering from the eye problem for years, but as an aged man he couldn’t get attention well, but he’s happy to witness today’s health intervention.
