NUJ Empowers Community: Dr. Ajayi’s Key Health Insights

The NUJ Ekiti Press Week health outreach featured a crucial lecture by Dr. Lola Ajayi, focusing on the importance of healthy living and cervical cancer prevention. The lecture aimed to raise awareness and encourage participants to prioritize their health.

Dr. Ajayi emphasized the significance of maintaining a balanced diet rich in fruits and vegetables and managing sugar intake to prevent chronic diseases. She urged attendees to engage in regular exercise, noting its benefits for both physical and mental health.

During her talk, Dr. Ajayi addressed common concerns regarding the high cost of health services. She encouraged participants to view health as an essential investment rather than an expense.

The doctor highlighted the importance of routine screenings, especially for cervical cancer, recommending that women undergo screenings every two years. She urged attendees to take advantage of the free medical services offered during the outreach.
