Oyebanji committed to payment of arrears, says Ekiti Pensioners

…as NLC Chair hails Ekiti Govt

The State Secretary, Nigeria Union of Pensioners, NUP, Ekiti State Council, Comrade Agbaje Oni Azeez has commended the Governor of Ekiti State, H.E. Abayomi Abiodun Oyebanji for his commitment towards ensuring pensioners welfare.

He made the commendation while speaking with Roundoff in his office, today, saying that, “the present state Governor has promised and he is fulfilling some of the promises.”

According to him, part of the promises fulfilled are “the DCE arrears of pension; payments of humongous arrears of pension.”

Also, Comrade Azeez said that the Governor has initiated a committee to look into the situations of the Union and ascertain past arrears yet to be fulfilled.

In a related development, the newly reelected Chairperson, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Kolapo Olatunde appreciated thel Governor of Ekiti state for his regards for workers.

Speaking with reporters after his re-election, Comrade Olatunde said that governorl Oyebanji has put a committee in place to ensure the fulfillment of all gratuity and outstanding pensions that previous administration left out,

He said: “It his when workers receive their salaries that money will flow round and the economy will grow.”
