One-year in Office: Federal Poly Ado-Ekiti Rector Rolls Out Achievements, Seeks Support

The 7th substantive Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti, Engr. Dr. Temitope Alake has unveiled his achievements in office to mark his one-year anniversary in office.

At a press conference in Ado-Ekiti on Friday, Alake said the institution under his reign focused on three core mandates of training professionals, ensuring that students acquire skills and training of minds.

He rolled out the infrastructural projects executed during his one-year in office to include; ongoing construction of New School of Environmental Building, ongoing construction of Mass Communication Complex, which will serve as the studio for the department, construction and furnishing of 36 rooms Students’ Hostel Building, ongoing construction of a Block of 4 classrooms, sponsored by the IGR Project of the institution, among others.

He went further to say that his administration prioritised the welfare of members of staff by not morgaging their welfare and also subsidised their transportation to cushion the effects of the removal of fuel subsidy.

In the area of electrification, Alake revealed that the institution migrated from 11-33KV resulting to 15hours power supply per day and the addition of new electricity poles in the institution.

The Rector added that the institution will go into mass food production through the efforts of School of Agriculture to reduce food scarcity in the country.

Alake equally noted that the Polytechnic’s Venture has been revamped towards revenue generation adding that the bread and poultry production are coming back to life to help boost the IGR of the institution.

While calling on well-meaning Nigerians to donate tractors and support the institution, he appealed to parents and guardians to allow their children acquire skills that are sellable.

He enjoined Nigerians to embrace vocational acquisition skills noting that the institution is committed to train student’s to have manipulative skills to be job creators.
