Olaniyi Alade Chairs NUJ FRCN Chapel for Second Term

Comrade Olaniyi Alade has been sworn in for the second term, as the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Federal Radio Corporations of Nigeria, FRCN, Ekiti State chapel.

At the inauguration ceremony held at the chapel’s secretariat in Ado-Ekiti, on Monday, Alade was administered the oath of office by the Chairman, NUJ, Ekiti State Council, Comrade Rotimi Ojomoyela.

In his acceptance speech, Alade thanked members of the chapel for deeming it fit to re-elect him, while assuring them of his continued commitment to their welfare.

Alade said: ” I thank you for your  support, I want to tell you that we are committed to your welfare and will never compromise it for anything.

“I want to appeal to our ever working management to continue to give priority to welfare of our members, this will spur them to perform well in their daily activities.

“Concerning our contract staff who have been with us for years, I share in your pain because most of you are not getting anything at the end of the month.”

Meanwhile, the NUJ chairman in Ekiti State charged members of the chapel to give their maximum support to the executives while calling on the newly inaugurated excos to discharge their duties dispassionately.

He went further to encourage the unionist in FRCN to identity with the activities of the union at the state level, noting that they are making giant strides towards prioritizing the welfare of its members.

In his words: “We don’t want office holders but people that will work. If you are elected please participate actively. Don’t be a passive member. There is nothing like management level in unionism. All of us are members of this union. Be part of us because we do not beg people to lead us. Serve us and let us see that you are serving us.

“We have sacrificed to see a revived NUJ in Ekiti State. We have garnered enough support. Department of Communications Studies is been created at the Local Government level.

“We are working to ensure that we have sense in our working environment. I want to appreciate you for giving our colleagues to serve you. I want you to work with them and also to identify with each other.”

The newly inaugurated executives are: Chairman, Olaniyi Alade, Vice Chairman, Funmi Falae, Sectretary, Anthony Ojo, Assistant Secretary, Anthony Ojo, Treasurer, Ifeoluwa Falayo and
Financial Secretary, Ifeoluwa Fasiku

Dignitaries that graced the occasion also gave their goodwill messages.

Speaking separately,  General Manager of the station and a Deputy Director, Dokun Ladele, TUC Chairman in Ekiti State and Chairman, ASUSS Comrade Shola Adigun and NLC Ekiti State Chairman, Comrade Kolade Olatunde congratulated the newly executive members and urged them to be proactive.

They urged journalists to endeavor to be more active in union activities.

Also NAWOJ Chairperson in the state, Mrs Fatimo Bello, Chairman of RATTAWU in the state, Comrade Jasper Taiwo Faleye and the NUJ Secretary, Ekiti State Council, Kayode Babtuyi felicitated the new executive members.
