NYSC Ekiti Shakes Up As State Coordinator Hands Over

The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC Ekiti State, has undergone a shake-up in its leadership structure as the State Coordinator, Mrs. Mary Nenna Chikezie, hands over today.

The hand over which took place at the NYSC Ekiti State Secretariat, Ado-Ekiti presented Alhaji Riko Abdullahi Shuiabu as the 12th State Coordinator in Ekiti.

Roundoffnews gathered that, this is not the first time the Katsina born is taking a leadership role in the Scheme; Alhaji Shuiabu has worked in Osun State and at the NYSC Headquarter Abuja, where he functioned under the Community Development Service, CDS Branch, as a Deputy Director, and now State Coordinator Ekiti.

Recalling the achievements indicated in her tenure, Mrs Chikezie appreciated the Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji and other stakeholders for their supports and corporation to counter some of the challenges encountered.

She said, “Yes, the time has come and it is good to recall memories of events we have had together. The Covid-19 era, the camping exercises, and the NYSC @50 event, these are good memories we share together, but the time to say goodbye has beckoned. I have got God and you all to thank for the successes we were able to achieve within my three years in the Land of Honour. The roads were rough, but to God be the glory for our numerous achievements.”

Moving on, the new state Coordinator, in his acceptance address revealed his intention to modify some mode of operations for progress.

He said, “I am here to be part of you…Also, to correct some things, while progressing, we might step on toes, but when we offend ourselves, walk up to me and we settle amicably. I will handle everyone as God orders; I will be just and fair in my dealings with all.

“We must accommodate ourselves. As individuals, we can never stay complete; hence, we must tolerate ourselves. He appealed.
