NUJ Names Hall After Akogun Tai Oguntayo

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ekiti State Council has named the main auditorium at the Oke Bareke Press Centre after its former Chairman, Akogun Tai Oguntayo.

This decision was arrived at during the March edition of its monthly congress as the motion was moved and unanimously supported by all at the Congress.The State Chairman, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi gave the outstanding performance of Akogun Tai Oguntayo as the reason behind this decision.

According to Comrade Babatuyi, it was during the regime of Akogun Tai Oguntayo that the present Press Centre and two fully air-conditioned buses were secured for the union. He lauded Oguntayo for his selfless services during his tenure as the State Chairman before he was appointed the Special Assistant, Media to the governor immediately after leaving the office.

This honour by journalists in the State came barely a month after the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) which Akogun Tai Oguntayo served as pioneer Chairman, organized a special reading to commemorate his birthday in Ado Ekiti.

Bellow is the full communique of NUJ at the last congress;
