NLC Declares Nationwide Rally Over 50% Telecom Tariff Increment

The Nigeria Labour Congress has directed All Affiliate Councils to embark on a Nation-Wide Mass Rally on Tuesday, February 4, 2025.

A communique issued by President of the NLC, Comrade Joe Ajaero says the Union reject the 50 per cent increase in telecommunication tariff by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).

Comrade Ajaero said after the meeting of the National Administrative Council of NLC on Wednesday, the Union directs its affiliates and State Councils to embark on a nationwide mass rally on Tuesday, next week.

Comrade Ajaero said Nigerians are still battling minimum wage ₦70,000; hike in the price of petrol, high cost of food, hike in electricity tariff, rising inflation causing economic hardship..

NLC calls on all Nigerian workers, the informal sector, and the general public to stand in solidarity against unfair policy.

Comrade Ajaero maintained that Nigeria Labour Congress remained committed to protecting the interests of Nigerian workers.
