The Chairperson, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa has said that the first set of Nigerians evacuated from Sudan have arrived at the Aswan border in Egypt.
She disclosed this on her verified Twitter handle, @abikedabiri while replying to a Twitter user @awolabitaiwo who frowned at obstructions experienced by students on their way from Sudan.
@awolabitaiwo said “Abike, there shouldn’t have been any problem after such bogus money was used for this emergency evacuation. We can’t spend $1.2m on buses for a simple drive-through and have cases of abandonment anywhere; It is not head-off ooooh.”
Abike responding to @awolabitaiwo said “(it is not) difficult to be Judge in this instance but I am sure the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs (FMHADMSD), National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), would clarify.
“However, the first set has arrived at the Aswan border in Egypt but the border is already closed. They will leave early morning and then proceed to the airport.”
