Michael Farchi, a guest at a prestigious Venetian resort in Las Vegas, is contemplating legal action against the establishment after experiencing a harrowing incident during his stay.

Farchi, hailing from Agora Hills, California, found himself abruptly awoken in the middle of the night by excruciating pain. “I just felt like someone stabbing me in my private area,” he recounted to DailyMail.

Upon investigating the source of his discomfort, Farchi discovered a scorpion clinging to his underwear in the restroom. Photographs taken after the incident confirm the presence of a bright orange scorpion, likely an Arizona bark scorpion, known for its venomous bite.

Despite the severity of the incident, the Venetian staff remains uncertain how the scorpion infiltrated the guest’s room. Farchi expressed his disbelief, stating, “It just was under my cover.”

The Venetian, known for its luxurious accommodations with room rates ranging from $250 to $2,500 per night, now faces scrutiny as Farchi considers legal recourse. He promptly filed a medical incident report, detailing the scorpion bite and the ensuing pain.

Brian Virag, Farchi’s attorney, emphasized the traumatic nature of the experience. “When you check into a hotel, you expect to be safe,” Virag stated. He expressed confidence that the Venetian, like other major hotels, has established protocols to prevent such incidents, but stressed the importance of ensuring their implementation.

In response to the allegations, the Venetian asserted that their protocols were adhered to. “The resort has protocols for all incidents, and we can confirm they were followed in this incident,” the hotel stated in a formal response.

As Farchi contemplates his next steps, the incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of safety and vigilance in hospitality establishments.
