Local Content Law: DG Urges Ekiti Youths to Apply for Jobs at Construction Sites

The Director General, Office of the Local Content Law, Ekiti State, Olalekan Ijidale has encouraged Ekiti youths and job seekers who have technical skills to always visit construction sites to apply for available vacancies.

Ijidale who spoke during an unscheduled visit to Immobiliare Construction, in a bid to ensure patronage of the local artisans and vendor affirmed that youths should not just seat at home waiting for mannas but make attempts to approach companies engaged by goverments for her construction projects.

Ijidale insisted on inclusion of Local workforce in the execution of Ado- Iworoko-Ifaki Road.

According to him, the implementation of the Local Content Law is part of efforts by the present government of Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji to boost the economy of the state and create jobs for the youths.

After carriying out headcount to ensure compliance with workforce and patronage of locally sourced materials, Ijidale appealed to management of the companies to cooperate with government and give Indigenous workers opportunities.
