Just in: Court grants Emefiele N300m bail

An Abuja High Court sitting at Maitama has granted Former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Godwin Emefiele N300 million bail with two sureties.

The court, in a ruling delivered by Justice Hamza Muazu, also ordered the seizure of his international passports and remand at the correctional center pending his fulfilment of the court’s order.

The Court also gave conditions on the two sureties, who must be resident within the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, and have landed property within the Maitama District.

Meanwhile, November 28 has been fixed for the commencement of a full-blown hearing on the six-count charge the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, preferred against the him.
