Insurgency: Nigerian Army Charges Troops on Professionalism, Combat Readiness

By Udesinanna Stephen

Amid Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), the Nigerian Army has charged its troops to remain professional and combat-ready against insurgency in the North Eastern part of the country.

The Army Force made this known through the Theatre Commander (TC) Joint Task Force North East OPHK, Major General GU Chibuisi, during an operational and familiarization visit to 7 Division and Sector 1 OPHK Area of Responsibility in Maiduguri, Borno state.

This is coming a few weeks after the Juntas executed a bloodless coup in the Niger Republic that shares a border with Nigeria in Borno.

As obtained from the official Twitter handle of the Arm Force @HQNigeriaArmy, Maj Gen Chibuisi, while assessing troops’ combat readiness and Units operational posture, he charged troops to “remain professional in their conduct and be committed to neutralize the vestiges of terrorist elements marauding the region.”

He also commended troops resilience and expressed optimism in attaining an insurgent-free region with all stakeholders actively engaged in the peace-building process.
