Head Teacher Orders Visually Impaired Students to Cut Grass in Ondo State

…students cry out, seek government’s assistance

Students of the Ondo State School for the Visually Impaired Owo, Ondo-State have cried out to government and well meaning Nigerians to prevail on their head teacher, Mrs. Taiwo Makinde who has allegedly continued to abuse and subject them to hard labour.

The students who spoke with journalists lamented that life has been difficult for them in the school as they now live like prisoners.

According to them, the Head Teacher, Mrs. Makinde and other staff allegedly pounced on them heavily at every slightest provocation and direct them to cut grass not minding their condition.

The students also alleged that the school lacked conducive environment and necessary facilities adding that they serve them any how food.

It was also alleged that the teachers often used words to stigmatize them.

The students alleged that they have submitted petitions to several offices including Office of the Deputy Governor of Ondo State but nothing seems to have been done to stop the wicked act against them.

Efforts to speak with the Head Teacher, Mrs Makinde was unsuccessful as her line was off and she didn’t reply to the message sent to her phone as at the time of this report.
