Gunmen Kill Babcock Lecturer, Abduct Two Others

A tragic incident unfolded at Ajadeh Event Centre in Iperu Remo along Sagamu road as eight gunmen in black attire stormed the venue, resulting in the death of Babcock University lecturer, Yinka Olomojobi, and the abduction of two others.

According to a statement by the Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, the incident occurred on Friday, April 19, around 9:20 pm. The gunmen allegedly shot Olowojobi in the chest when he resisted going with them.

The lecturer, along with two others identified as Dare and an unidentified individual, were relaxing in the lounge when the armed assailants attacked.

A suspect named Awada Ishaya from Plateau State, recently employed as a security guard at the event centre, has been apprehended for further interrogation.

Olomojobi was rushed to Babcock University Teaching Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The police are actively pursuing the perpetrators and working towards the safe rescue of the abducted victims. Updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
