GROUP EXTOLLS POSITIVE IMPACTS OF GBAJABIAMILA ON NIGERIA YOUTHS

The National Forum for the Defense of Youths in Nigeria, has showered encomium of the former Speaker of the House of Representatives and Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu Femi Gbajabiamila over his leadership style and outstanding impact on Youths in Nigeria.

The group in a statement by its coordinator, Raphael Ogunfowokan and made available to newsmen in Abuja affirmed that the Chief of Staff has shown exemplary leadership and made positive use of his offices to the advantage of youths in the country.

According to Ogunfowokan, Gbajabiamila was able to sponsor important pieces of legislation including the Students Loans, (Access to Higher Education) Act, 2023 and many other youths related bills which are of great benefits to the youths in the society.

Ogunfowokan said:” Gbajabiamila ponsored 25 Bills in the last Assembly with about 10 considered crucial passed by the House. The bills include Electric Power Sector Reform Act (Amendment) Bill 2019, Physically Challenged (Empowerment) Bill 2019, Presidential (Transition) Bill 2019, South West Development Commission (Establishment) Bill 2019. Labour Act (Amendment) Bill 2019, Economic Stimulus Bill 2019, Emergency Economic Stimulus Bill 2020, Quarantine Act (Repeal and Enactment) Bill 2020 and Nigeria Health Infrastructure Development Bank (Establishment Etc) Bill 2020

He noted that the action of the youths was to encourage the Chief of Staff to continue to make more positive impacts and sustain his legacy of giving back to the society without minding the destructive criticism by some faceless individuals.

He said:” We are aware of the dastardly plan by some individuals to drag the Chief of Staff into cases of
infractions perpetrated by the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele.

“This is a very dangerous step that must be stopped in our society, any individual can not just wake up and cook up any lie against any person without proof and such lies are sponsored in the media.

“We don’t operate based on sentiment or emotion, we find out the fact of matters and lay them bear to the public to judge.

Assuming without conceding that Gbajabiamila was involved in the said infractions, there are procedures for treating such cases, the anti graft agencies are there to investigate, but reverse is the case especially now that every body have access to the social media.

“We implore the public not to be quick to judge based on what they see on social media, let’s always apply necessary protocol and find out the truth before passing comments.

Ogunfowokan noted that the group had carried out it’s independent investigation on the matter and it’s findings revealed that most of the allegations were only cooked up and sponsored in the media just to cause confusion and distract the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
