Gaza: We can’t deliver aides under airstrike – UN tells Israel

By Udesinanna Stephen

The United Nations (UN) has said it can not continue to engage in its humanitarian activities in Gaza under the ongoing Israeli Airstrikes in the region.

Since after the October 7th Hamas attack on Israeli residents, leading to the death of thousands and abduction of dozens of Israeli; in response, the Israeli Airforce has been striking strategic Hamas hideouts that include tunnels even within civilian arena.

The Director of the UN Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said, “You cannot deliver aid under a sky full of airstrikes.”

Emphasizing this, UNRWA noted on its X handle @UNRWA that the “Continued heavy Israeli Forces’ bombardments of the Gaza Strip, imposed access restrictions and limited humanitarian supplies detrimentally impedes UN ability to provide aid.

“Gaza is becoming the graveyard of a population trapped between war, siege and deprivation.”
