Fuel Subsidy: Be Prayerful, Rep Tells Nigerians

By Udesinanna Stephen

Following President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s announcement that fuel subsidy is gone and queues are returning to filling stations, the House of Representatives has resolved to support the President’s decision and tasked Nigerians to be prayerful.

This is coming after Representative Abdulraheem Olajide, (APC-Lagos) moved a motion of urgent public importance during the plenary session, saying that the legislative should support the President on subsidy because it will bring development.

He said, “The legislature must support the President in delivering dividends of democracy, which will go a long way in enhancing development because he asked for it and campaigned for it. And he is ready for the task ahead.”

Dailytimes gathered that some Representative attempted to challenge the motion, but the Speaker of the House, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, prevented members from debating the motion.
