In commemoration of her 70th birthday, a retired nurse and member of the Civil Society Organizations, Dr Mary Ebunoluwa Adeyanju has empowered eighteen vulnerable women and children with cash gifts worth one point five million naira to support their wellbeing.
In addition, the celebrant also made donation to the Irona Basic Health Centre, Ado Ekiti as part of her Community Social Responsibilities.
The beneficiaries were given cash gift between fifty and one hundred thousand naira each to start up a business in order to be able to feed their families and to attend to pressing needs.
Speaking on the reason behind the initiative, the celebrant, Dr Mary Ebunoluwa Adeyanju noted that the step was conceived out of her personal resolutions and determination to put smiles on the faces of vulnerable persons in the society.
Dr Adeyanju noted that she is happy and fulfilled having empowered the the needy in the society rather than engaging in unnecessary birthday party that would not make any positive impact
She promised to replicate such in future time and appealed to the beneficiaries to judiciously utilize the money .
In their testimonies, the wife of Oloye of Oye Ekiti, Olori Arinola Ademolaju and two of the celebrant daughter inlaws, Mrs Omolayo Adeyanju and Mrs Tosin Adeyanju described Dr. Adeyanju as a mother to emulate both in character and service to humanity.
According to them, Dr Mary Ebunoluwa Adeyanju is an angel that is ready to assist any one that come across her and prayed God to grant her more successful life in good health.
They urged the celebrant to continue to follow the path which she is known for and appealed to others to emulate her kind deeds and meekness.
Also, the representatives of Coalition of Civil Societies Organisation in Ekiti State, Mr Funso Olajide and Mr Timothy Olaoluwa explained that, Dr Adeyanju is highly favoured and blessed due to her exemplary ways of life especially in the area of service to humanity.
They noted that the celebrant is a key player, lover of all, cheerful giver, advocate of peace, saying that her behavior would give her peace of mind to spend more prosperous years.
In their appreciation, some of the beneficiaries thanked Dr. Adeyanju for counting them worthy and prayed God to continue to uplift her.
They promised to use the money given to them appropriately.
