Ekiti NSCDC Condemns Vandalism of BEDC Transformers

…vows to prosecute perpetrators

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ekiti State Command, has strongly condemned the recent act of vandalism on BEDC transformers and other power installations in Ekute, Ikere Ekiti,lse Ekiti, Emure Ekiti and other power stations in the state.

The State Commandant Sosina Paul Oluwaseun PhD fsi who said this despicable act not only disrupts essential power supply but also poses a significant threat to public safety and economic development against federal government efforts to make electricity available to the end users opined that henceforth, the Command will not take it lightly with anyone found to be associated with vandals in the state as Commandant intelligence Squad has been deployed to the three senatorial district of the state to safeguard these critical national infrastructure from vandals.

Commandant Sosina who said in his office explained that, the Corps is committed to protecting critical national infrastructure, including electrical installations, Communication base stations and other facilities warned that, Ekiti State Command under his leadership will continue to work tirelessly to apprehend and prosecute those responsible valdalising these common properties and other associated criminal acts with a view to making tax payers in the state enjoy the services of these agencies without interruptions.

Dr Sosina therefore urged the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest security agency without wasting time so that national assets that are supporting national survival are not destroyed by economic saboteurs and their accomplices in the state.

He also appealed to the general public to desist from acts of vandalism and to embrace peace and development by protecting national assets in their environment by guarding them jealousy, watching over it and challenge unauthorized individuals around them.
