The Vice President, Kashim Shettima, has blamed past governments for the country’s economic situation, saying that past leaders engaged in lip services, but President Bola Tinubu is different.
Shettima said this lately at the 136th meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC) tagged: ‘Planning for Stability: Our Agenda for Economic Growth in 2024’, held in the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The VP said, “It took courage to embark on fixing an economy hindered by decades of political lip service.”
As obtained from his X handle @officialSKSM, he noted that “What has set President Bola Tinubu apart as a Nigerian leader is the courage to embark on fixing the country’s economy through bold reforms” and save it from further crashes.
According to him, the Federal, state and Local Governments must strategise decisions that reflect crucial social issues, including social protection, social investment and nutrition.
