Easter Celebrations: IGP Orders Deployment of Security Personnel, Patrol

The Inspector-General, IGP, of the Nigeria Police Force, (NPF), Usman Alkali Baba, has ordered the deployment of security personnel and patrol to ensure the safety and security of all citizens and visitors to the country during the 2023 Easter celebrations.

This was disclosed today in a press statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi and published on NPF verified Facebook handle.

According to him, the IGP charged all supervising officers that intensive and proactive visibility patrols should be carried out at all worship centres, road network and financial institutions.

Also, the statement noted that, all State Commissioners of Police (CPs) and their supervising Zonal Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) have been ordered to ensure efficient deployment of police personnel, and operational assets to areas of likely security threats within their respective areas of responsibility (AoRs).

“Alkali felicitated with Nigerians, and the Christian community in particular, on the commemoration of the crucifixion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and called on them to continually cooperate with the Nigeria Police and other security agencies by providing prompt and actionable information that would help in the prevention and detection of crime.” He noted.
