Council Boss Inaugurates Special Committee to Tackle GBV

The Executive Chairman of Ado West LCDA, Hon. Taiwo Adeyemi Alagba has inaugurated the Gender Based Violence Management Committee of Ado West LCDA.

The committee is to work with appropriate authorities to create awareness on the dangers of GBV and on the need for women to speak out during violence.

While performing the ceremony, the Chairman thank the Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency, Dr John Kayode Fayemi and his wife Erelu Bisi Fayemi for their efforts and great concern to eradicate GBV in the State.

He appealed to members of the committee  not to focus on female alone but both gender.

The Deputy Director Of Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs Helen Akomolafe while giving her keynote speech read the roles and strategies of the committee members.

she implored the committee to be committed and work tirelessly to see that Gender Based Violence is eradicated.

Addressing the committee members, the Chairperson, Mrs Victoria Adeyemi urged them to see the job as a call to service and work together as a team.

Reacting on behalf of the committee members after the oath of allegiance had been administered, Dr. Mrs Aderonke Ogunleye thanked the council for the privilege given to them to serve. She promised that the committee will be up and doing to see that the purpose for which the committee was set up will be met.
